A 37-year-old police officer in Fort Worth, Texas was critically injured after he was hit by a vehicle at around 10 p.m. along Interstate 30 near Henderson Street on September 2, CBS DFW reported.
According to a news release from the Fort Worth Police Department, the officer was outside his patrol cruiser due to a report of furniture in the road when he was struck by a vehicle.
Corporal Tracey Knight said that the officer was transported to the Harris Methodist Hospital in a critical condition, but added that he was stable and had been “alert and talkative” during the transport. MedStar EMS spokesman Matt Zavadsky said the officer sustained a broken right femur, several cracked vertebrae, head trauma, among other injuries.
No charges have yet been filed, but police authorities plan to examine the dash cam in the police car for more information.
